Luck

It’s all just luck that we have

…it’s all we cling on to

Today my friend got rejected from 2 universities out of 5

She’s had a pretty rough time in her Junior and Senior years

She missed out an opportunity…by chance?

What’s worse is that she isn’t stupid. She didn’t get the grades because of the many things that she was blinded by. She had that opportunity and she let it slip. She didn’t want to. She’s starting to work hard now and there are results….but it all looks like it’s too late all because…

all the school sees is the system and not her.

It’s the damned university system that we all follow because it’s a norm.

Just because you get better grades, work harder, and have better academic grades doesn’t mean it has sentimental value…you really have to know the person.

HOW can you judge with just grades and personal statement?

I take a program called the IB and I realized that the creativity I used to possess has faded all because I have rules to follow and can’t step out of the gray zone that everyone seems to be dying to get into.

I want colors.

I want to be unconventional.

Luck can be unfair.

BUT THE MOST IMPORTANT THING THAT DEFEATS LUCK IS PERSEVERANCE

To everyone out there…..don’t give up

Just because a group or some system can’t look beyond the circle….doesn’t mean you need to trap yourself in a circle

Use what you can with the luck you have

Whether it’s little or big

In the end we make what we have

Throw the dice and make your possibilities

xx

Some of the rules mean nothing. Some of the rules are meant to be broken. Advancements in areas like art, technology, science, etc. are rarely, if ever, made by those who follow conventional thinking. In business it’s called ‘thinking outside the box.’

I’m just like your friend in a way. by the time i understood the system it was too late i never knew i had options! I wish I was more informed and supported. Now I have to try four times harder to get recognized and a 100 times to prove my self. it sucks. liked your post take care lovely!

I’m impressed with your thoughts because it’s very helpful to think all these things before you go to college. Society promotes this cookie cutter version of life that most of us don’t fit into. I wish I had gone into the work force for a couple years to figure out a passion before I went to college. I wasted a couple years in school before I got my footing, and even then I was still exploring when I graduated. Life is a journey and there is no correct path. The only thing we can do is enjoy the experiences along the way because you never know what will happen next. Good luck with everything!

I LOVE your writing…so understanding and relatable. I know completely what you mean, and I believe in taking opportunities and not dwelling on the ‘ifs’ or ‘buts’, which get in the way of life!
Thank you for the like as well :)

First off, thank you so much for stopping by my blog. Second, this is a good written piece about luck, but I liked when you talked about perseverance. It is very much needed when those events occur and luck isn’t on your side. It’s perseverance that keeps you motivated to try again despite things not going your way; it brings you one step closer to an opportunity that luck (fate or recognition of abilities) is one your side. Thanks for this reminder.

Hope you are enjoying your week.
